This 1 rupee rose and green stamp (Scott 33) was part of the series issued in 1931. A note in the Scott catalog indicates that many errors of perforation and printing exist.

What an interesting stamp. The guest house looks like it is on the edge of a lake. I went searching on the web for an image of this guest house, but couldn't find any. I did find this little snippet in a 1907 copy of The Central India Gazetteer Series.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

banknoteguy Jack, your post in regards forgeries and the problems with Indian Feudatory States reminded me of several stamps from the area that I have in my small collection. The 3 older ones from Charkhari State are so simplistic that they would be easy to make copies of.

I created a page about it here: stampforgeries.com/forged-stamps-of-charkhari-state/

Charkhari is one of the states with very crude designs and execution (the 1931 pictorial issue being the one exception). Consequently lots of forgeries/reprints. Seems like most of what you see for sale are fakes/reprints/fantasies.
The page classicalstamps made is spot on.
Some of the fakes/reprints are easy to spot like the POSTASE vs POSTAGE on the 1921 Handstamped issue (SG29,30). It is laughable how many sellers list the POSTASE reprints as genuine. You see them all the time -- if you happen to be looking for Charkari stamps!
Of the stamps on the page hdm1950 posted, I think only one of the first three is genuine, the wide one. And to be sure on the wide one, I would need to see it in hand.
On the 1931 pictorial issue, most of the canceled ones I have seen have the double ring cancel. I assume all of those are CTO. I have only one example of this issue with a cancel other than the double ring.
If you are interested in more about the 1931 issue of Charkhari here is a thread by Tony MacGillycuddy who is an I.F.S wizard:

On the 1931 pictorial issue, most of the canceled ones I have seen have the double ring cancel. I assume most of those are CTO, particularly if it has date visible that is from the early 1930s. I have only one example of this issue with a cancel other than the double ring. But one with a date from the late 1930s or 1940s I think are genuine postally used.
I have always assumed most of my early Indian Feudatory States stamps were forgeries or were old stock remnants. The early wide one on this page was the only one I thought might be genuine although rather faded. I have never went looking for these stamps, they have come from old collections and box lots I bought for other reasons. In the process I have acquired several 100 though, enough to make a separate album for them.
