Are any of our members able to suggest a simple robust Net Meter please? Nothing fancy. Like to monitor my usage each month, NET METER I have used for 5 years no longer works under W7
When I look via Google there is a vast array, and each site is loaded with adverts, and subterfuge download arrows to try and catch the unwary. Thanks.

Rodney, just wondering out loud here, does your internet provider perhaps supply you with this information, perhaps in some kind of dashboard setup or something similar? (I realize you've probably already checked into that.)

(I realize you've probably already checked into that.) Well no Dave I have very little to do with my provider, just pay $39 a month and forget it. I'll have to contact them to get a password to log in. The help FAQ page was basically a rabbit warren. I like / miss the little icon that used to sit bottom right of my screen, that monitored usage real time daily downloads and monthly % usage of quota.

The hootech looks suitable, albeit I notice YAHOO browser, that usually means junkware and Yahoo taking over your browser. The softpedia is Trialware, a trap for spending money. This has good reviews under gadgetware for W7, looks a bit like the dashboard of a fighter jet addgadgets.com/network_meter/If you have W7 fancy a try? I prefer the apparent simplicity of hootech.

Rodney, I think it might be the other way around -- the Hootech one is the 30-day free trial only. The Softpedia one is free, and I downloaded it, and, in reading the little .txt file that came with it, I believe it is the successor to the one you were using. The developer said it had developed the original Net Meter, learned a lot from it, and started over from scratch for Win7 and successors.
I ran it through 3 anti-virus packages before opening and installing, and no warnings went off.
It's so small that I can just send you the .exe and .txt files as simple email attachments.
The thing I don't understand is how it measures cumulative usage. It looks to me like it's only measuring speed, but perhaps with your familiarity with the earlier version, it'll make sense.
I'll send you an email now.

Very glad that that worked out, Rodney! Especially glad that you've found a tool that's helpful!
