Thank you for the list covering the different admirals issued René, but that is not the answer to my question relating to sales of these particular stamps that was either completely or partially imperforate. I did add an Edit in my last post on the Imperforates: NOT SOLD in P.O. in Canada etc. That is why UNITRADE does not presnet any C.V. for them but they are sure nice !! 1 day I will scan my Admiral pages and put them on this thread - series complete for me, not with all varieties !!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I can now see that the imperforated stamps we're only sold at the philatelic bureau. Was this the same for the coil stamps sold in sheet format ? I cannot answer your question but in a post by me last month you will see I have the similar block of 4 of the .01 yellow. I am more of an accumulator rather than delving into the whys. I use a 2000 edition of the Unitrade Canada specialized catalogue. These blocks are covered concisely as follows.

In using an old catalogue you are being very thrifty hdm1950, as normally most of the information remains the same, the only difference is usually in the price of the stamps in question which is usually overpriced anyway and not the true market value.

hdm1950 - Hugh, 2021 Unitrade enhances by 50% the 126a (Die II) VF block to $120.00 and the 126c (Die I) VF block to 150% X $1,000.00 ....$2,500 pesos !! CVs have changed since and now the enhancement factor is present in some stamps. René

I've just started getting interested in stamps of Canada especially the earlier ones that remind me the various Australian state issues. Here are a couple more that took my fancy. To name but a few, although not admirals they are very appealing. Do not mind seeing your CANADA stamps....let's not forget this is the ADMIRAL thread..... Have you looked at my 4 posted Admiral pages ?

Have done a bit of bidding on Mint NH admirals to replace some existing ones and bought the Canada # 106a 2 carmine KGV Admiral booklet pane (very cheap); the 113 7 cent YELLOW ochre and the 118 10 cent Bister brwm - All others I lost as the bidding was a bit crazy - some buyers just want to win !!!! $$$$$$ I have plenty of time to buy the other ones without paying 50% cv -RIDICULOUS !!

Have you looked at my 4 posted Admiral pages ? The four pages that you posted René appear to be of a mixed condition in putting mint and used together when completing individual spaces, I would normally segregate them, unless you are using the used ones as space fillers on a temporary basis. I can see from your collection that you certainly enjoy collecting them. When I exhibited some of my other Canadian stamps I was just generalising as they are obviously not admirals.

@paperchase Nice to see your interest René You may have noticed that one of the blocks of 4, the 1cent value has a blind perforation between the top 2 stamps, is this a bonus or is this perforation error regularly found on this issue ? As I am only a novice when it comes to "Admirals", can you give me an answer ?

I cannot give you an answer for the 104 or 105 (green-yellow) 1 cent as all booklet panes have 6 stamps and are listed a such in Unitrade Canada Specialized cat.......unless you have a different reference You do not need to ask me to answer, as I will post if relevant. It would seem that in a roundabout way René you are unable to answer my question about the blind perforation situation, I do not have any specialised catalogues for Canada as it is only recently I have started to purchase Canadian stamps, and as a seasoned veteran I thought you may know the answer. Oh ! well !

Oh ! well ! I am not an expert on Admirals although I have a substantial collection of them. I just did some searching on line to see if there is any reference to blind perforations as a recorded variety and found nothing. What I have seen are quite a few blocks of them where the paper remnant was still there which would suggest that the perforating machines used by the printer were not punching cleaning through during some press runs. I based that on searching eBay listings and sold items for Scott 105. It was also happening with other values.

Hugh, Unitrade lists a block of 4 for 105 orange yellow as 105v pyramid guide, block of 5 with one CV of $300 for a Fine, no other values or explnation René

I believe that this definition of a blind perforation answers the question:
Blind perforation Intended perforations that are only lightly impressed by the perforating pins, leaving the paper intact, but cut or with a faint impression. Some stamps that appear to be imperforate really are not if they have blind perfs. Stamps with blind perfs are minor varieties carrying little, if any, price premium over normally perforated copies.

Thanks Daniel for the explanation which will certainly not bring "closure" to this discussion René

My basic question was :-
Is this a bonus or is this perforation error regularly found on this issue ?
All that was needed was a simple answer, nothing complicated was required !

KGV Admiral coil stamps - my custom page - Sc# = Unitrade # note: strip of 2X 3 cents brown is not listed - I put it there as a decoration with no details Most stamps are used and they will not be replaced by MNH unless I hit a jackpot René

On an auction of Admirals (KGV Admiral Issue), I won a few Mints to add to the collection but was impressed with the absence of bidding by the US people, on this nice Unitrade 106a, MNH which I won for $9.98 (CV $C100) - René

It looks like you've got a bargain there René as the CV of $100 would probably be just for a mounted pane whereby yours are unmounted......... Nice one !

If I put CV $C100 (Unitrade).....that is the CV as of 2021 in Canadian currency at the time - MNH-VF (unmounted as some say ) and the CV will change from cat to cat !!.....just a reference René

Yes, that's the problem when looking at different catalogues relating to the same stamp, as they will probably indicate a different cat price. And as you say, it's only a reference guide anyway and not the true market value.

Another arrival today was this addition/upgrade to my Admiral collection. I have a used single of the Unitrade 124 Perf 8 Horizontal coil stamp. Now I have a mint never hinged pair. Centering is not the greatest but still a nice pair.

As I was going through 4 old Ambassador Stamp Albums and removing stamps for the giveaway I flipped a page after Bulgaria and saw a few Canadian Admirals. I decided to go through and separate all the Admirals in all 4 albums and see what I have. These are all dupes for me but I have always loved these stamps and thought I would post what I found. Also I found a couple with a little bit more interest that I have questions about below. First, there is this perfin, "NYC" on 2c yellow-green, Sc. no. 107. I am guessing I would be incorrect in thinking this means New York City...but, I did find a reference at the following website, Zenius, that states this is a perfin for the New York Central Railway:

Also, this is Sc. 105, orange yellow, which I thought had an interesting postmark. Can anyone tell me more about it?
