Michel 140 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II. Can't wait to mount it today and cross 1995 of my list of things to complete. It amazes me how many stamps Ukraine has issued commemorating the end of World War II. I guess we in the US just can't appreciate the horror of living in a Nazi occupied country. My dad did it before his family fled to America. My mom did too, but she was 3 years old, so she doesn't remember much.

Mr. Petro Poroshenko is currently in Australia, I watched him interviewed last evening, A very engaging and likeable young man. I think Ukraine is in good hands.

The problem with Ukraine has always the neighbours to the East and West. Luckily the Western neighbour now considers Ukraine and ally and respects it's territorial sovereignty. The neighbour on East doesn't have as much respect for Ukraine.
Sadly, Russian still controls the media in their country and filters Internet traffic. They continue to force feed the news to their citizens and convince them they're right. Russia has changed very little since the Soviet Union collapsed.
