Got these today. Cut squares with some revenues. These are my weakness. I have been keen to ask what you pay, but modesty prevented beforehand. If you care to share, please do, otherwise I shall understand. I have been paying about $5 a page for the past 3 years, say 15c to 20c each? I may often get a bid testing me by raising my bid by a $1, but they fall away after that, I felt I had the market to myself, (They often bear great examples of postmarks) The last two weeks I have had a shock, I usually put a snipe bid of around $12 to make sure I don't miss out and am asleep when North American auctions are on. The last 3 auctions I have been gazumped, with a purchaser paying $13 and upwards per page. I have no problems with losing the bid, but was searching the cut squares for something I may have missed, perhaps some scarcities but they look normal to me. Perhaps the market for cut squares is on the rise ?

The first batch was $14.50 + $1.00 shipping.
This last batch was $6.50 + $3.50 shipping.
The U.S. Custom stamps were a separate order. I just tossed them in Vario pages to store them until I'm ready to play with them. By the way, I'm tossing the ragged ones because they're ugly.
I just started to get interested in cut squares (sorry). I, too, like the postmarks. Am starting to collect Squared Circles.

U.S. Cut Squares Why do they claim that cut squares need to have a border of paper around them? I like them better without the surrounding paper.

Lovely Stuff! I like my cut squares. (often a misnomer)
Opinion: "Need" qualifies only in respect to perceived value. Philately is the ultimate democracy, collect what you like, how you like.
When these items are placed for sale, the "cut square" neat and with wide borders will attract the best price.
I do like a wide cut square that captures the entire Postmark, if any.

With the GB embossed stamps many were cut to shape, then I saw an old album and the space for the embossed stamps had them outlined as if they were cut to shape. I guess many of the very early collectors did this. I have a look around tommorrow for that old album.

I think some of the top rows of the U.S. squares would be worth a little bit of money if they had paper around them.

Here is a catalogue broadsheet, for Australian "Cut Outs" (2010) (which is a better term, in my opinion) Provided by one of my local dealers in Western Australia, Mr. Robin Linke. His preamble is worth reading. Also note some "cut outs" are worth $40 and more.

Canceled U.S. Cut Squares You may have a future "Ghost Town" there, Zipper. wiki Centralia is a borough and a near-ghost town in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. Its population has dwindled from over 1,000 residents in 1981 to 10 in 2010 as a result of the Centralia mine fire that has been burning beneath the borough since 1962. Centralia is the least-populated municipality in Pennsylvania.
