This is one of my favourite US issues, the 1934 National Park series. Beautiful! I acquired this complete used set a while back, but it has troubled me. All the cancels, with the exception of the 3¢, are identical. So what do you all think? CTO? There is no gum on any of them. Or fake/forged cancels?
If they were forged, it would almost be a shame that the 3¢ isn't the same, then it would be a compete set of fakes!

CTO you would expect differing layouts as the CDS would be used to cover 4 stamps, yours look like they have been "struck" identically in the corner, or the postmark is printed on the stamps. They don't seem to hold a value worth forging the stamps. The 1c and the 3c were reproduced as imperforate souvenir sheets for 2 expositions, so it would be conceivable that these two may have genuine postmarks. some values shown here values.hobbizine.com/stamps/us-1934-35.html

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

I don't think the cancellation is printed on the stamps, they would be identical if they were. There is variance among the postmarks in inking strength and you wouldn't get that if they had been printed. I expect they're favour cancelled, perhaps Winslow, AZ (although there are other possibilities as well).

I suspect you are correct on this one Ryan. Some googling turned up the possibility of favour cancels, though I couldn't find any example images. Guess theses will get a separate page in my album labelling them as such.
If anyone has a 3¢ of this issue with a similar Winslow (?) cancel, let me know. Maybe I can make an offer and complete that set, meanwhile, while continue to search out postally used. Never ends, does it?
