If you need to get info about US stamp and know the Scott Number, you can a lot of good information, including a description, by going here: www.mysticstamp.com/viewProducts.asp?sku=scottnumber&catalog=130123&target=top Just replace scottnumber with the Scott catalog number, and you'll be taken to the order page for that stamp. The order page has a picture and a useful description. For example if you wanted to look up Scott #3000, comic strip classics, you would go to: www.mysticstamp.com/viewProducts.asp?sku=3000&catalog=130123&target=topAnd along with the ordering information, you will get stuff like this: As well as the picture:

Now what we need is some geek to scrape the web site and gather all this information into a useful database.

My 2¢ is that while they are a decent reference they are a terrible fair market price reference and their stock isn't assembled by philatelists by any stretch of the imagination. Oh if you do poke around there on their site be sure to check out the Rare Stamps section.. If you have any stamp sense you'll quickly know what I'm talking about! www.mysticrarestamps.com/
