Here's a couple of covers picked up today with corner cards from small railways. Kind of interesting. Frankfort and Kokomo R.R. Co. with almost blind Kokomo Ind cancel. Stamp looks to be an 1879 SC#136 Missouri Pacific Railway Co. postmarked in St. Louis MO in 1888 with an 1887 SC#213. Anyone know what the U.D. on the cancel would stand for? Would it be Union Depot?
Well I guess the Missouri Pacific wasn't so small. mopac.org

Posted this on the Missouri Pacific Historical Society's Facebook page. They came back with this response.
1883 - Union Depot which predated the current Union Station
I would disagree with the assessment of the year, because of the stamp issue date, but good to know about the Union Depot.

I agree with you as well. The stamp wasn't issued until September 1887 so the postmark year can't be 1883. The Missouri History Museum provides the following: "Union Depot, St. Louis, Twelfth and Poplar Streets. Built in 1875 and used until new Union Station erected in 1894."
