I don't know how common stamp exhibition perfins are, but I thought I might just show these GB 1978 National Stamp Day examples. As the text states, the were only available at the venue. The block shows the 9p 'The Tower of London' value. Perhaps LB1 might have some insight:

(By the way, there is a typing error on the page "NSP" should read 'NSD' for National Stamp Day !) Surprisingly, these are not listed in my Exhibition Catalogue although earlier issues are including the first National Stamp Day in 1975 which were produced in private booklets. I guess your examples above were sold loose or in some other format. I also have a single copy of the 1978 Chemistry Centenary 8½p stamps with the perfin. There may be others. My 1975 Booklets contain the Se-Tenant pairs of the European Architectural Heritage Year issue. National Stamp Day appears to be the brainchild of a little known organization, the 'Stamp Collecting Promotion Council' which was based in Southampton Street, London. In the mid-to-late seventies they organized events in London such as the one shown on the page above. Souvenirs were an obvious addition to those events. I have just found this........... www.angelfire.com/pr/perfinsoc/abstracts/3750.pdfLB1 PS. I can dig out the Philatelic Bulletin mentioned in that article if it helps. I'll most likely have a search for it anyway !! (If I have one)

Thanks for the information and that link. The image shown of the booklet in that article has just caused me to think that I have one somewhere; it does look very familiar. If I do have one, it will no doubt surface when I'm not looking for it.
By the way, the error in the write-up (NSP instead of NSD) is not mine. I bought the page as is.
