So, one of my obsessions in stamp collecting is that I make sure se-tenants stay together. With my choice of the Mystic Heirloom stamp album, this can be quite the challenge at times. So, for the pages that Mystic got wrong, I make my own as drop in replacement, with proper descriptions on the back. So, I just finished "fixing" page 609, which broke up the Olympian and Indian Headdress se-tenant. The files can he found here: stamphacks.com/wp/?p=815Here's a picture of the page I have completely given up on the idea of taking the perfs off the image. Too much work for something that will be hidden once the stamp is mounted.

What I collect: Primarily focused on Japan, but lots of other material catches my eye as well ...

Andy - I may be missing something, but couldn't you do a very tight crop to get rid of the perfs? If you'd like, send me the image (whatever format it's in), and I'll have a go at it. (My email should be in my profile. Let me know if it's not.)

For se-tenants, you need to crop around the whole se-tenant, and then in between each stamp. It's not a big deal, but is it really worth the effort, if you're just going to mount a stamp over the picture any way?

It's not that hard. Just takes a ruler and some time. Now as long as Mystic doesn't hunt me down, we'll be OK.

As I stated I think it's a wonderful idea and skill set to do stuff like that. The page that has always really bothered me is the page with the spot for the Scott #613 (W.G.Harding) and the fact that there is only like a bakers dozen +/- known and certified? I'd love to see that page amended/fixed. It's page No. 131 in my album but I do realize that pages numbers change in these albums with all the additions that Mystic makes. Anyhow that's my pet-peeve about it.

So, you want 613 removed from the page?

yes. it's annoying to have a blank spot for a stamp you'll probably never even get to see let alone slapping a hinge on it and smacking it in your album you know? lol It's almost paramount to the "Z grill" or the inverted Jenny! Why I ask, why is there a blank spot right there? **OK I'll step off my soapbox now!**

The other option is to leave it there, but have a color picture.

No I'd know it was there. I'll just put a #612 there and mark it accordingly.

Not yet. That's pretty low res. Let me get the descriptions on the back and make a PDF for you. I'll try and finish it tonight.

you don't have to do that after all they're just going to get covered over with stamps.

you don't have to do that after all they're just going to get covered over with stamps. The descriptions on the BACK of the page. You need those, so you have descriptions of the stamps on the next page.

Anyone else need any Mystic pages fixed. I have off next Monday and Friday and hope to be hacking pages at least for an hour or two next week.
