Okay, I have a second one I just cannot find. A year would be a great start, but a Scott numer even better. Thanks again!

That's quite an attractive stamp! This is not really my area, but I did a little sleuthing in Scott, and I believe it is Scott # 2422A, part of a regional costume series issued in 1961-1962, although it looks like yours is the only one issued in 1962. The full set of 10 is # 2418-2426. But, according to the footnote, there are also 4 more, issued in 1963: # 2723-2726. I bet that's a nice set! Hopefully someone here has it and can show it.

I believe this is Scott # 2016, part of a 15-stamp set for the 40th anniversary of the October Revolution (Sc # 2003-2017).

I don't read any Cyrillic, but fortunately I could recognize what looked to be the root for Latvia in both of those stamps, which helped narrow it down to the exact number in the set.

Thank you Philatarium!
That is it. No wonder I couldn't find it, Scott tries to make sets of things they shouldn't. I checked around the time periods around 1962, but missed that one. I guess your eyes are better than mine. Again, thanks!
PS: I did notice that both my stamps had Lativa in the title. Odd!

I thought it was from the 1950a, by the printing used on the stamp. I am a retired printer, and the has been useful to my hobby of stamp collecting.

I give up! I have spent two days looking for these three stamps, and I cannot find them in Scott's. I found them at stampdata.com and the information is enclosed. But Scott's seems to ignore the issue date and try to put them is sets that only Scott likes.
Here is the information from stampdata, com: The first stamp is 1965, May 9 victory in Poland 20th issue, the second two are 1965, Mar 30 Czech & Hungarian liberation 20th issue. I searched eBay and found one seller who list them, but no number. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Once I moved on, I found all three. They are listed by Scott in 1964, and I was correct, they made a set out of these stamps. I can see why most of the rest of the world avoids using Scott's. No need to reply my post and thank you for looking!

I posted just as you did Scott is probably in error for the dates, Russian catalogs list them as being in 2 different sets in 1965

My Scott's 2001 list the stamps under 1964, with a small notation as to the release date. Scott's makes set that should never be sets. They should appear when they were issued. Just my two cents worth. Thank you for your comments.

stampguyusa , according to Michel, the issue dates are as follows for your 3 stamps from left to right (Scott/Michel/date): 2904/3068/9May1965 2903/3035/30Mar1965 2903A/3036/30Mar1965 k

It would seem that with different catalogs it may be a case of "Lost in Translation"
Scott 2018 Russia lists the stamps as 1964-65 and essentially being "Liberation" issues with 8 stamps in the series
SG puts them in 1965 but breaks up the set according to their interpretation of their issue purpose - 7 stamps
khj has noted the Michel description indicates 3 groups by issue date - 6 stamps
My go to Soloviev Russian catalog series places them in 2 sets, one to promote liberated areas and the other to promote Socialism benefits - 6 stamps
It would seem that if you collect WW then Scott/SG/Yvert/Michel general catalogs are useful but not necessarily accurate and the country specific ones may tell a different story

Just as different collectors group things differently, so then does the postal service, catalog editors...
Certainly by inscription, all 8 stamps indicate they commemorate the 20th anniversaries of the "liberations" of 1944 and 1945. But if you look at what is depicted, then you can group them a different way. The 1965 issues are definitely more along the lines of rebuilding (infrastructure & relationships).
For some reason, Scott likes to group staggered-release or multi-year commemorative series together as one set -- but ironically, they rarely do that for US stamps (e.g., Legends of Hollywood, Looney Tunes... aren't grouped together).
That being said, Scott is notorious for inaccuracies regarding date of issue for non-US stamps. Definitely go with the others catalogs for accurate issue dates for non-US stamps: SG for British Commonwealth, Facit for Scandinavia, Michel for remaining..., but always the local specialized catalog for specific countries.

khj,
But my catalog buying days are behind me. I am stuck with Scott's 2001 version. I am very aware the Scott's has many faults, especially in foreign stamps. So I rely other sources for information, such as this wonderful forum.
Cheers, Jim (stampguyusa)

Tobben63,
I thought the "Sn" was the Scott number on colnect.com. It has been for what I looked up.

Tobben63, I thought the "Sn" was the Scott number on colnect.com. It has been for what I looked up. I think "Sn" is a kind of internal colnect number, but not sure. I will look further to see if I'm able to find a facit.

Here is an example. The Sn number for these two stamps matches the Scott Number. I suspect they avoid using the word Scott.

There is fact in both statements Colnect does not use SC as the Scott catalog but Sn - possibly copyright issues? Anyway here are the catalogs they use & the stamps listed. AFA - Denmark catalog ANK - Austria Netto Katalogue
NVPH - Netherlands catalog
Leo Temprano - Colombia catalog RHM - Brazil catalog
GZ cefiloza is Argentina Zonnebloem - Indonesia, Suriname Pofis Czechoslovakia Belgium is probably the COB WADP is part of the UPS standards - www.wnsstamps.post/en/ Very good for finding out if the stamps are actually postal issues or junk Dai Nippon - variety, mainly Japanese occupation catalogs
