I'd like to thank five of our members who have made their first (but hopefully not last) philatelic-related contributions to the Forum's Newsletter. Specifically, my thanks go to theamateurphilatelist , kostia84 , rabi , nikhil and wgthomus for the philatelic articles they submitted for the first issue of the new publication year (V3.1). If you haven't yet read their works I encourage you all to do so -- and take note of the articles you like as we'll be asking you to join in selecting our 2019 APS Article of Distinction next September.

I have just finished reading the newsletter. I am very impressed with the professionalism, both in production and content. I must find the time to go back through the archive. Skimming through the index shows hours of interesting reading ahead.
Thanks to all involved. Both those who contributed and to those responsible for putting it all together, Clive

Regarding the "Fort Bliss" centenial stamp discussed on the last page, as I've learned from the Instagram page of "exploringstamps", it was arguebly the first stamp of "space" thematics, which makes it the corner-stone of astrophilately.

I loved reading this edition of the newsletter. Kudos to every member. KOSTIA84 and his letterpress (printing article) was very close to me since my Family owned a french speaking weekly newspaper since 1923, sold a few years back by my brother (3rd generation) to the IRVING conglomerate group of New Brunswick (they own everything !!). Found memories came back of my late dad's printing shop, newspaper press and his front store and he was a Philatelist of interest and today I continue working on his massive collections, already in 2 years wth more than 25, 000 stamps inventoried and more than another 25-40,000 to go.
As a young teenager I worked the presses and hung around his staff and learned the evolution from lead to more modern printing techniques.
Besides Kostia84, loved Jimjung' s piece and LondonB1 Cinderella story - I know very little about cinderella stamps though I have some but do not know what to do with them (!).
Thanks to all contributors
René

My second contribution actually :-) Sorry, Manish ( theamateurphilatelist ). I guess I was too focused on LB1's giveaway entrants and completely forgot about your Charm of Used Stamps - Headgears of India article (V2.1, p.15). I imagine all of my memory lapses would be bothersome if I were able to remember them.

renden , We haven't been overwhelmed with submissions so will remain on a Quarterly publication schedule during 2019. The Jan-Mar issue should be out shortly and the target for article submissions for the Apr-Jun issue is March 10th.

Great newsletter. I'd like to add my very positive feedback. I particularly liked the article on Cinderellas. Always great to learn something new and the 3 "one penny reds" bit was instructional. Haven't gotten a real one yet, but another potential problem avoided.
The Traveling Philatelic Exhibit was also helpful. As a result, I've just sought out a copy of the "A Description of United States Postage Stamps".

I used a different approach when posting the current issue of the newsletter (V3.3). In the past I merged the previous issue into the archive and then created a new thread for the new issue. This time I added the new issue as a post on the Current Issue thread and then merged the previous issue into the archive -- the result was that the thread still retained the view count of 340 from the previous issue. If you're interested in knowing the number of views V3.3 has received, just subtract 340 from the counter. I'll revert to my old method for the next issue to avoid having to apply higher math skills in figuring out how many views the Newsletter has received. Lastly, we need material for the July - September issue. We held a submission by jimjung for it but we would like to receive several more and would be especially appreciative to receive a few works from first time submitters!

A great issue.
I now have managed to read all of it. I enjoyed the article on Cinderellas . Though I do not collect (yet) I found it very informative. I would like to help out by submitting an article at some point. My big issue is what to write about.
keep up the great work.

I too have just finished reading it and was hugely impressed ! Reading made easy and some very interesting content (I may start collecting Korea now....God help me !!). Plus, I'd never read about Wake Island before and I had a tour of France. What more could one wish for on a Thursday morning ? All these good points are just another reason to put pen to paper and write for our Newsletter. Help is always available to those who are 'unsure'. Thanks to the team and look forward to more reading next time. I have already entered our Editor's Giveaway (read the Newsletter for details, not on the Forum!). I will post details of another Giveaway later....so come back and visit the Forum soon !! Londonbus1
