Cochin, India Postal Stationery issued in 1892 As I do not understand Malayalam, I cannot read the date this was mailed, though it was likely in the last decade of the 19th century. The cover as you can tell has had a rough life, but now it can retire in peace (and an archival holder) in my collection.

Nice pics
It's funny, but I bought an India & States collection over the Xmas break - a lot of items in there!! Of the Indian States, the most were from Cochin and Travancore. I read somewhere that, back in the day, a lot of these were used as packet fillers!
I hadn't considered India as a collecting area previously but have been reading thru' Tony MacGillicuddys 'UGLIES' thread on that other board recently and must of been seduced by it, as I saw this collection for sale on Trademe and bid on, and won it. Funny that as I am currently going thru' it and looking at these new to me items that you posted the above pictures.
Nice one
Dave
