On July 15, 1975, the U.S. Postal Service issued a se-tenant pair commemorating the Russo-American Apollo Soyuz space test project. The upper stamp (Scott 1569) depicts the Apollo and Soyuz after their link-up (July 17th) with Earth in the background. The lower depicts both spacecraft before link-up with Earth and the project emblem. The tagged, perf. 11 stamps, designed by Robert McCall (Scott 1569) and Anatoly M. Aksamit of the USSR (Scott 1570), were printed by photogravure (Andreotti) from plates of 96 subjects in four panes of 24.

This se-tenant plate block of four is from the May 29, 1992 Space Accomplishments issue, designed by Vladimir Beilin (Russia) and Robert T. McCall. It was printed by pphotogravure from plates of 200 subjects in four panes of 50. Scott numbers of the individual stamps are 2631 (upper left), 2632 (upper right), 2633 (lower left) and 2634 (lower right). There is a corresponding Russian issue (Scott 6080-6083).

And the first Space Walk se-tenant: From Wikipedia:Two 5-cent se-tenant stamps comprise one illustration of an astronaut during a space walk, honoring the space accomplishments of the United States. These issues were first placed on sale on September 29, 1967, at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The offset press and intaglio press were combined to produce this issue in sheets bearing one horizontal plate number. Offset printed the red stripes in the flags on the astronaut's spacesuit and capsule and light blue sky areas, as well as the inscription on the astronaut stamp. The Giori press printed dark blue sky areas, the aqua earth, and black tones on the capsule and astronaut. The inscription on the spaceship stamp was white. This issue was designed by Paul Calle of Stamford, Connecticut who based his design from photos taken on the Gemini IV mission.[16] The issue was printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. It was issued in panes of fifty, with an initial printing of 120 million.

APS has packed a lot of good information into those downloadable albums (there are now well over 50 of them) and the only downside I see is that they are geared for the U.S. collector.
It seems to me that they would provide beneficial tool for someone running a youth program.

The centerpiece of my space topical collection, this cover flew aboard Challenger on the eighth Space Shuttle flight (STS-8).
The serialized cover records the flight with originating (August 30) and returning (September 5) postal cancellations. The August 14, 1983 cancellation indicates the date that Challenger was originally scheduled to launch.
The cachet is a reproduction of NASA's official "patch" design for the STS-8 mission.
The $9.35 perf. 10 booklet stamp affixed to the cover (Scott 1909) was issued at the Kennedy Space Center on August 12, 1983.
The cancellation on the cover's reverse indicates the place and date that the shuttle returned to Earth.
The USPS certified that the covers sold were actually flown aboard STS-8. A listing of the serial numbers of unflown covers that were destroyed is available on the collectspace.com website.

Not a topic I am currently focused on, but I have a few acquisitions in my topicals binder. Here's a couple I don't see on the board yet. German Democratic Republic Scott #1901. 1m MFK-6 multi-spectral camera over city from the achievements in atmospheric and space research series issue on March 21, 1978. And a Cuban stamp with an astronaut/cosmonaut that I know nothing about. Has a date of 2009 on it.

That's very cool, Steve! I called the Bug over to see, and she agrees. ;D (The Bug = my 9-year old.) When the USPS announcement came out, I was so excited about the prospect of owning a cover that had flown in space that I ordered 3 (2 for me and 1 for my father). Following the Challenger disaster in 1986, the covers took on increased meaning to me. The cover came in a very nice tri-fold presentation folder -- here are a few of the images from it that the Bug might enjoy.

Has anyone ever been to Togo? These stamps were issued on October 4, 1977. They comprise two sets of three stamps each: a regular issue consisting of the 20F, 30F and 50F (Scott 965 - 967), and an air mail issue consisting of the 90F, 100F and 200F (Scott C326 - C328).

The Cental African Republic issued this stamp as part of a 4-stamp space exploration set on June 10, 1981 (Scott 446). The other values were 100fr, 200fr, and 300fr (Scott 445, 447 and 448, respectively).
A 500fr souvenir sheet was also issued on that date (Scott 449).

On May 18, 1982 Hungary issued a set of 7 space-related stamps. Below is the first stamp in the set, a perf. 11.5 1fo depicting the Columbia shuttle (Scott 2743). The stamps also exist imperforate.
