Two other cinderellas of the same era (about 1931/36) of the previously posted, showing the Orange Tree Yard at Barcelona's Catalan Government Palace. Issued by Barcelona's Tourism Board.

I finally forced some holiday time to work on my Citrus, this a page from a section on the 3 original citrus fruit as they pertain to the orange. This the Citron. The other 2 are the Mandarin and the Pomelo which will have similar pages. Still a working page with some type and wording adjustments to come.

1981, Vila-real (actual and official name) city of the oranges. On the left, there can be seen an outline of the city, when founded in 1272 by the Catalan king, Jaume I. As I said before "taronja" (plural "taronges") stands for orange/s in Catalan (also called "Valentian" on the Valentia area)

A recent new page. Does anyone have any info about the type of machines that produced these. That is, what they are called in collector circles. I note the bottom example is a repeating style.

2019 Stamp, devoted to València's province. There, you can see a number of typical things from València area: The city of Arts, Old Gohic walls door, fireworks, Paella (typical rice dish), orxata de xufla (a vegetable refreshing drink) and two oranges. The "tarifa A" stands for domestic up to 20 g letters (0.5 €)
Jeff: should you be interested, I can try to get a copy (o more) for you next time I go to Barcelona's GPO philatelic counter. Most likely on early September

New in today's mail, one I have anxiously been waiting for:
The pomelo, a single franking Thailand issue on an internal registered returned to sender cover.
The pomelo goes by various names including pummelo, citrus maxima, citrus grandis and a couple others. It is considered by botanists to be one of the three original citrus from which all other orange-related plants and fruit evolved, including the "orange" citrus sinensis.
Such solo frankings to the thematic collector and especially exhibitor are "the things that dreams are made of." Now I can get working in earnest on my pomelo page(s)

In today's mail from France, another die-cut sticker, this for
The Eighteenth National Orange Show Feb. 16-26 San Bernardino
(1928)
This is fairly large measuring 4 inches horizontally, leaf edge to leaf edge.
And as a bonus the "sponsorship" on the gummed reverse of Richfield Gasoline and Richlube oil, an automobilia collectible in it's own right.
I need to work on the pencil notations on the back

On the way soon to me, a 1982 production from Spain.
The upper left image is a scene similar to an older cinderella posted here by cursus showing a plaza lined with orange trees.
I'm not sure what these are except from what I can glean from the heading EXPOFIL MONDIAL '82.

These are cinderellas issued by Barcelona's Stamp and Coin Traders' Gild with the title "Segells d'Història de Catalunya" (Catalonia's History Stamps). There issued from September 1978 untill about year 2000.
They were issued in connection with stamp exhibitions and sold at a booth set by the Gild to sell their products (among them, these cinderellas).
This one was issued for an stamp exhibition held at Barcelona's Passeig de Gràcia (one of our main avenues) in connexion to the 1982 Soccer World Championship España'82. The Exhibition, called "Expofil - Mundial 82", lasted from June 8th to July 11th 1982. I remember it very well, as I was there and keep a lot of documents from that.
The cinderellas' sheet comes in 3 versions: the normal, an imperforate one and another one with a red overprint of "MOSTRA" (Catalan, for "sample")
On the cinderella itself, you can see the "Pati dels Tarongers" "Orange trees yard" in Catalan. Our word "pati" stands for a private yard inside a house and it has hard pavement not grass. It comes directly from the Roman "Impluvium" (Roman legacy is very strong in Catalonia). In contrast "plaça" (Catalan for "square") is a public space. It was built on XV-XVI centuries oin the Gothic Palace of Catalan Governement ("Generalitat de Catalunya" for us) in down-town Barcelona. At the right of the cinderella, there's a text, in Catalan, with an explanation of the "Pati dels Tarongers".
On the other 3 cinderellas, you can see Saint George's Chapel, a XV century sculpture of the same saint from the Palace's old main door (on Bishop's street) and a portrait of Count Peter IV of Barcelona (mid XV century). Saint George is Catalonia's Saint Patron.

As far as I know, the fruits are bitter Orange, used to make marmelade. Now the trees have grown. The picture was taken nearly 40 years ago.The "face value" 25 Pts. Stands for 25 pessetes, pesseta (pta/pts) was our currency between 1868 and 2001. 166.86 pts = 1 €

Another use of bitter oranges is to make orange wine. A colleague of mine buys them special order from Corsica in February every year to make his year's batch of orange wine, which is really good.
