What I collect: Cinderellas and some Ephemera from Great Britain, France and Israel plus a few beautiful bits from elsewhere !! Topical interests include Flags & Judaica, the latter with an emphasis on the Jewish National Fund.

A relatively low-key and forgotten side to GB Philately but I was recently gifted some nice booklets by a Facebook 'friend' who just happens to live in the North-East of England !! These are listed alongside all the other Philatelic Exhibition items that I bore you all with from time to time. But these ones have those things called Postage Stamps added so are something new for me. However, searching around in all my stamp mess I find a few more, long forgotten about, hence this thread. But let's start with those lovely gifts ! This one is from the North-East Philatelic Weekend which has been runing since the 1980's. Every two years (this years has been cancelled....yes, Coronavirus !!) There was a period when it ran annually organized by Dorothy Martin an eminent North-East Philatelist. They chose the cover well for this one !

The final booklet I have at hand for the North-East Philatelic Weekends was for 1992. This one might be of interest to MACHIN collectors ! The cover, also on blue card, shows the front of the old Gateshead Town Hall. The venue, again the Swallow Hotel in Gateshead, is now closed. The hotel went quickly into liquidation in the summer of 2014, surprising the locals, and is now a Jewish School for Girls. I found inside one of the booklets a Souvenir Sheet from Germany,'Die Blaue Mauritius', but have no idea if this was included in the booklet or not. Londonbus1
