Is this organization still active? I sent an email and called the contact number. The email bounced and the phone number was no longer in service. I'm trying to buy a copy of the book "Mute Cancellations of the Brazil Empire By James Alfred Dingler & Klerman Wanderley Lopes".

If you want to order from Subway, I recommend you call or email first to be sure they have it in stock.

I'm trying to buy a copy of the book "Mute Cancellations of the Brazil Empire By James Alfred Dingler & Klerman Wanderley Lopes". It is stil active, I am a member, however, it has been closed durinng the COVID pandemia. This was the first south American philatelic association (1911), however, there are only circa 20 active members left, all of old age and the finances of the Society is not well, so, there is no website, no employee and only the physical address and whatsapp group. The same happens with the Brazilian Philatelic Club, of which I am currently Secretary-General. The philatelic entities in Rio de janeiro are dying out and being replaced by whatsapp groups...

Thanks ausbrasilien. The book finally arrived after 2 months from Subway. Its sad to see so many organizations disappearing. The Empire issues are my main interest as well as revenues. Not being much of a social media type, what is a "whatsapp"?

Any updates regarding the Association? A message on their website states:
"Due to the untimely passing of our long-time Editor/Publisher, Treasurer, and friend Bill Kriebel, publication of our quarterly journal, The Bull's Eyes, is currently suspended. Until such time as we can replace Bill's many functions, the Association is effectively "on hiatus." If you have an interest in fulfilling any of these functions, please contact our President John Hawkins. In the interim, we will be collecting no further dues or membership applications until the Association's future is more fully determined."
I e-mailed them a while back and got no reply.

Umm, Rodster, I think that magazine is not the philatelic magazine, but a student organization magazine of nearly the same name.

khj Umm, well that's kinda embarrassing Thanks for the heads up. Strange, I am a long time collector of Brazil, and I have no instance of a "Bulls Eye" bulletin / magazine amongst my 20 or so monographs and catalogues etc. Any members have an image of the cover of one?

Apparently they have some really good issues and articles. I'd love to access some of them. Hopefully they'll be back in business soon.
