There are two symbol (Hand of Ulster and crown) types, SG defines the two versions by the pearls on the crown as either not connected on left side. Deegam has two types Type 1: • the left side of the hand is curved throughout. • the white line of the hand is thin and faint (sometimes absent altogether). • the bottom pearl underneath the orb is detached from the central cross. Type 2: • the left side of the hand is straight but curves in sharply at the wrist. • the white line on the hand is thick. • the bottom pearl underneath the orb is joined to the central cross. There are two subtypes of Type 2. In Type 2a, the pearls along the crown are all separate from each other. In Type 2b, the second pearl on the left is joined to the crown, and the last three on the left are joined to each other. So....this is my assessment. Stamp 1 -- Deegam Type 1 due to center pearl detached from cross, The hand seems curved. hand line is faintest of the group. SG Type 1 since pearls on left separate Stamp 2 deegam type 1 since central pearl detached, hand appears curved , hand line is somewhat fainter. SG type 1 since pearls separate Stamp 3 deegam type 1 center pearl detached but hand appears straighter on side, hand line appears bolder? SG type 1 since pearls separate Stamp 4 Deegam type 2b, SG Type II since pearls joined. What I would like to see is a Deegam type 2a which would be a SG Type 1. Looking for someone to confirm observations...
