History We can date this excerpt from a Stamp Album, from 1922-1936 A young lad then, would be hinging his "Caucasian" stamp on this page.... The Transcaucasian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic , also known as the Transcaucasian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, the Transcaucasian SFSR and the TSFSR, was a constituent republic of the Soviet Union that existed from 1922 to 1936. It consisted of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. As they were separated from Russia by the Caucasus Mountains, they were known traditionally as the Transcaucasian Republics.

I am not "certain" about this one stamp, found with my Transcaucasian Federated Republics. Not in Scott 2013. Some "stamper" told me it was a 50r overprinted 1000 violet with red overprint, dated 1922, never issued, prepared for Famine Relief ? Maybe somebody on this Forum can help me out ? Thanks - René

Thanks - René This as noted is a Georgia Famine relief issue found imperf & perfed. This issue was a compulsory tax from the beginning of April 1922 and mainly found on external mail. Lots of forgeries in all Georgia stamps but only one type in these issues The forgery is slightly larger at 20.0 X 24.7 mm compared to 19.5 X 24.2 and some minor letter differences

Zooming in to the set of interest, we can read "Issue for the victims of famine on the Volga and the Georgian peasants". It continues on the next page, where the imperforate issues are mentioned. So your stamp is YT#45a.
