A cute Netherlands postal card. I am curious about the boxed A2 marking if anyone knows what it means.

Thanks for showing Antonio ( smauggie ); that is a little nice card. The 'A2' is a delivery stamp and was used by the postal carrier to indicate job complete. In addition to the boxed one shared here, other shapes exists including an oval.
You will also sometimes find them on the stamp as well; here the carrier would use his delivery stamp to obliterate stamps missing their cancels.
The 19th century version of a pen or marker...
Happy collecting!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

A have heard of semi-postals from France and the Netherlands. Not sure what the phrase means. The simple Google search definition is as follows forth : A semi-postal stamp or semipostal stamp, also known as a charity stamp, is a postage stamp issued to raise money for a particular purpose and sold at a premium over the postal value.

"semi-postal" is an Scott (American?) name, and place these stamps separate from "normal" ones. In Europe, we talk about "charity stamps" and our catalogs list them in chronological order with the other stamps.

In all my 50+ years of collecting I had never heard the term. I have come across " charity issue" in catalogues I use. Thanks for the information.

I have heard and known of charity stamps since I have been on TSF for some time and use Scott (semi-Postals) and Unitrade Canada cat. Sounds good to me and I also use MAURY for France and as mentioned, dates of issued are continuous. BTW you are at 49 posts and our ADMIN Admin will soon check the "50" mark to see if your posts qualify at 50 for full membership - CCONGRATS in advance from me !!

An advertising cover with corresponding slogan meter for Ornisa, a pet shop in the Netherlands. The meter rate is the printed matter rate at the time.

This cover arrived today with a purchase.
Okay, its a cropped part of the cover.
The leaf illustration caught my eye and I was able to make out the text of the machine cancel which reads DUURZAAN BEZORGD, which in English means SUSTAINAABLY DELIVERED. I searched online and found that this is a popular concept of delivering not only mail, but also freight and packages, in the most ecological way, including the use of non-polluting vehicles and eco-friendly packaging, and more.

JeffS, that's an interesting postmark. Thanks for sharing. I imagine folks in the Netherlands delivering by bicycle. Although, I cannot for the life of my understand why Dutch Post is commemorating the Australian comedian Jim Jeffries?! (the fellow on the left is the spitting image.)

JeffS , madbaker , The two stamps are two stamps from a miniature sheet celebrating Dutch DJs, issued 6 October 19 2014. DJs have become one of our biggest export products. The sheet of ten first weight-step (1) inland letter rate stamps contains five different stamps depicting DJs Hardwell (stamp 1/1 and 2/4), Tiësto (stamps 1/2 and 2/5), Afrojack (stamps 1/3 and 2/1), Dash Berlin (stamps 1/4 and 2/3), and Armin van Buuren (stamps 1/5 and 2/2). The two stamps are from the top row, positions 4 and 5: Dash Berlin and Armin van Buuren. Image from the filahome.nl website.
