Folks, I have another identification question. (And I apologize in advance for still not being able to upload an image. I don't know how to transfer to this thread an image I uploaded onto TSF imagehost, and I can't seem to get anyone to lay out for me specifically how to do it.) Ethiopia: Scott numbers 132 and 133 are at issue here. I have a stamp that seems a hybrid of the two: 4$ denomination like #132, but the center is the center of #133--not lilac rose but gray, and the head is larger like it is on #133. I assume this is some sort of reprint fake. Can anyone more expert confirm that, or is there another story possible?

Adam, there is a most bizarre story behind these 1919 stamp and reprints produced in 1931. There appears to have been a deal, made in 1917, between a former Minister of Posts Jean Adolph Michel who was Swiss and a vey young successor, Wassanie Zamanel, to produce the 1919 series. Michel claimed to have been unpaid during his tenure of office and this deal was intended to compensate him. In 1931, still in possession of the printing plates, Michel reprinted the stamps purely for the philatelic market. However, he included a host of errors, including inverted centres. The 1931 reprints have brown gum. See here for the full story. Daniel

Steve ( Admin). thank you very much for adding the image to Adam's post. He had emailed it to me, and I was about to do it, but I saw that you already had. Thank you! Daniel ( daniel), great stuff! I have a fair number of these issues sitting around with my collection back in California, but I had not realized that there were later reprints. I will check out the link you sent, and I will look at my holdings to see what I can determine. Thanks to you both, and thanks to Adam ( adamgarfinkle) for starting the thread.

Well, everyone is welcome and thanks for the interesting story about the Ethiopian reprints, which are a pain in the arse.... The instructions on image posting are also appreciated, and these are the best I have seen. The problem is with my computer: when I try to upload from TSF imagehost I get a security warning saying that the site is not private, and I cannot override it. I can't get into my security settings to fix it because of some iCloud sharing issue I don't understand. I have asked for help...

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Have you considered using the 'Add image to post' option rather than the 'Upload images' one. That is how I do it. From my PC or iPad I then just select the images from the device I am using. So easy.

Are you uploading the image to the cloud before trying to move it to the image host? If so, try uploading the image to the TSF image host first.
