Hi fellow collectors, Here is a stamp that I need help with. I thought it might be from Egypt or Syria, but could not find it on Colnect.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

norsten I checked on the Stamp Identifier app and it is a revenue stamp from Egypt. There are several shades of green with different years of release.

That explains why I couldn't find it. Thanks!

You can find pre-1915 revenues shown in the Forbin catalog available here. The images aren't of the best quality but I find them better than nothing.

I think this one norsten is from the Farouk era ie postwar up to 1950s… it is similar printing style to the definitives of that period.

The original issue was the Egyptian General Revenue Issue of 1939-1949. Set of 10 denominations, with 1m the low denomination stamp. Sorry, I don't know how to distinguish between that and subsequent printings.
