Thanks for your post, Terri ( philatelia). I would suggest that we tag a couple of members known to have significant experience in this area: Hironobu ( unechan) and Dave ( Philatarium) immediately come to mind. Perhaps there are others? Kim ( khj), Werner ( salentin)....

Please kindly offer recommendations for a reference book in English for Japanese material such as these thanks a bunch! Hi, Terri philatelia ! As far as I know, there really isn't a reference book in English. At best, they are primarily in Japanese, with a few English phrases. But what may serve your purposes just as well is this website from the Japanese philatelic society in Denmark. They show representative examples of each of the major types of revenue stamps at the various links presented on this page: ssjp.dk/eng/revenue/overviewrev.htmlThe gentleman who prepared that page is also active in the US-based ISJP, and there's a pdf overview presentation prepared by him that may also provide some help: isjp.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Japanese-Revenues.pdfMy very quick assessment from the items you posted is that they're all on the common side (nothing wrong with that!). It's usually the rarely seen ones that sometimes do hold a little more value. I hope that helps get you started!

The very last stamp you show, bottom row, rightmost, is an almanac stamp, and there's a little page of those on that Danish site, too: ssjp.dk/eng/revenue/bookrev.html
