I recently saw this on another US stamp forum. There is a large collection (40,000) of cinderellas being sold by Oldlouis Auctions in January. stampauctionnetwork.com//OL/ol27.cfmThere are a few GB lots from lot 1627 and few more scattered in the Worldwide and Europe sections.

michael thanks for alerting us to this great Cinderella auction. There was much to go through but it was worth doing, there were some great rarities included. I bid on about 10 lots and, after much confusion, I found that I had won 3 of them. Included in these were the 2 lots that I particularly wanted. I'll post images and descriptions when I receive them. The top 20 lots sold for between $110 and $600. Good to see so much interest in Cinderella stamps. Thanks again Michael. Daniel

My thanks to michael too. I have been looking at all the lots since and spent some hours going through each one. I noticed very quickly that the descriptions were generic for the most part and similar in style to their eBay listings. So there was some confusion along the way, especially with some of the mixed lots. It was easy to miss something. Customs limitations here meant that I could only bid on a few low-end lots and I was outbid on all of them except one. But it was fun to follow large parts of it and was well organized mostly. The Delandre block I showed Friday came from the lot I won. To illustrate the pockets of confusion that could have given some folk, the block was part of a larger lot which included other decent items. The Block was also offered in an earlier lot, in singles, and sold for over 3 times more than I paid. Go figure ! There were other such instances like this one. Like daniel, I also noticed the big interest in Cinderellas. Many items sold for much higher prices than can be found on eBay, for example. It made for interesting comparisons both during and after. I was very surprised at some of the hammer prices. I like this company, very hands-on and always quick to answer queries and their packing is superb. Given all the problems in Ukraine, they do a great job. Londonbus1

daniel Londonbus1 I thought you would find something to bid on, so glad you have had some success. There wasn't anything there on my wants list but I did enjoy spending an hour or so going through every page.

One of the items I bid on was a nice Perkins Bacon lot and I thought I was a dead cert to get it leaving a high-ish bid because I wasn't home. But it was more proof of the good prices attained that I was outpaced and outbid !! Oh well, good stamps and cinderellas always come around again.........don't they ? Londonbus1
