I have always found this issue perplexing. All the time and money spent on other colony stamps, and these ones appear to be early photocopies. I know they are not, but still a very puzzling issue. I have tried to find some postal history on why these were made the way they are, but to no avail.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I had forgotten I had this same issue and can only speculate that because so few would be required that they were allowed to produce them locally. They are more an administrative tool. I know Malta had similar imperforate ones but without serial numbers. One of my St' Lucia is a margin copy.

Here are the 2 I have, one with salvage edge. This post serves a double purpose as I was testing whether the 'Add image to post' tab was back up and running.
