I know what I wish for and am searching the net for a decent image……..it’s not unique. There are 4 known examples.I ‘ll post it when I find it.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

philatelia , you're a genius. two-thousand times. This isn't a unique item, maybe just shows the limits of my imagination. Some lucky bidder got this one for a mere USD 23,000 in 2017. Now more likely it would go for double that. My wife undoubtedly expects me to do something like this someday. She overestimates me.
(Yesterday my neighbor from down the road a bit came walking by, found me in front by the street raking leaves in the rain. He's a lawyer, his wife is a judge, their children fully hatched years ago, the house on the water is paid for. He said he just bought a Maserati, just because he could. I was respectfully stunned, failed to ask to take it for a zip, but this will happen.)

The Belgian inverted Dendermonde for me. Only 17 know copies, only two of those cancelled, and only one is legible (Gand 13 Aug 1920) - and that one is valued at $75,000.  |

found images of my dream item se tenant pair of Cape of Good Hope woodblock ERROR OF COLOUR one penny Milky blue / Fourpence  this was sold from the Queen's Royal collection to raise cash for the purchase of the famous " KIRKUDBRIGHT Penny Black FDC with 10 penny blacks " and was subsequently bought back at Auction some 10 years or so later . If I can't get this one or any of the other three known examples I'd settle for a Single error  This was on offer "P.O.R." Which means "if you need to ask "how Much" , you can't afford it " ![]() |

Ok, I have put some thought into it and I think the rarity I would most like is this:  It is a DiBrazza meter. As far as I know there is only one known. He was an Italian nobleman who moved to the US and tried to address the issue of putting stamps on lots of envelopes. He developed this meter and placed like a dozen meter units in New York City in 1897. They were in use for a few weeks I think. It is a critical piece of the history of postal franking. |

I can't break it down to just 1 so I'll be greedy & say the following 2. The two pence Tyrian plum was a postage and revenue stamp produced by Britain in 1910 as a replacement for the existing two colour 2d stamp of King Edward VII. 24,000,000 stamps, were printed and delivered to the post office stores for distribution to postmasters. The circulation of the new stamps was delayed while existing stocks of the current stamp were used up so that the change would take effect at one time and the amount of surplus stock of the old value would be kept to a minimum. However following the death of Edward VII on 6 May 1910, it was decided not to issue the new stamp and almost all the stock was destroyed. Only a few examples survive in private hands, making this stamp one of the great rarities of British philately. A single used on cover example is known, which was sent by the then Prince of Wales, later King George V, to himself  and the £5 orange  |

That one. Position 87/88 and 97/98 plate block of the inverted Jenny stamp of 1918. This plate block last sold on 19 Oct 2005 for just short of $3mil. The next day it was handed over to the Mystic Stamp Company in a trade for the one cent Z Grill. It was then purchased by Stuart Weitzman in 2014 for an undisclosed sum. It was actually sold again in 2014, but the last known price was 2005.
I could drool on that all day.
Probably good that I don't own it. Mike
