I have found the following under the Type heasding (Erstdr.!) following a stamp description ion Osterreich-Spezial, but in looking at the abbreviations with the catalogue, nor in the print for English users, I see nothing to indicate what this is - Translation results in first, but first what???
Stamp in question is Michel 2Xt b
It is in parentheisi
Thanks!

I don't have Osterreich-Spezial, but Erstdruck?

it makes sense, butI'd think there might be more if the 2 Kr was the first stamp printed/issued?

Erstdruck would mean the first printing in a series of multiple print runs for that stamp.
At least that's my understanding. I'm open to correction by those who are more familiar with Michel.

My Austria Spezial is a little bit aged: it´s the 1980/81 issue. I hope there are not to many changes since then. On the following page at the lower left side, there is a small chapter with the heading: Erst- oder Feindrucke. The following explains how to recognize the Erstdrucke. The text is not that easy to understand, let alone to translate. I think the quintessence is,that the stamp must be silber-grau (silver-grey). Unless you have ample stamps for comparison, what is not likely, because of the price of the 2 Kr. stamp, it will be hard to distinguish the colour-shade. Therefore an expertise is a must.

salentinI have the 1995 edition and the next page , bottom right corner does indeed contain what you have described. And you are correct, I do not have enough 2 KR... in fact i have only one, and it appears schwarz without much wiggle room!

Here's the translation (according to Google, with a couple of changes to make easier to read)
Erst-oder Feindrucke
First or fine prints
These can be recognized by the clearly dotted background of the coat of arms, by the clearly visible dots in the crown band. The 2nd row of fringes at the end of the band shows dots and not stitches. The 5 vertical lines in the small coat of arms must be clearly recognizable. The first printing is typical for the color silver-grey. Stamps from the first period of use do not have to be the first printed, since by the time they were issued, they were already showing signs of wear.
