Last week, I got my shipment of 2022 Ukrainian stamps in. I took the evening out and checked through them all, removed any selvage, and left in a big pile on my dining room table, waiting to go into mounts.
And there it sat for a week.
3 night ago I go to put the stamps into mounts, and I find one stamp sitting on the dining room floor. I pick up the stamp, blame the cat and move on with the putting stamps in mounts.
When I am all done, there appears to be one small definitive stamp missing. I spent 2 evenings searching my entire dining room looking for this stamp. Looked all over the floor. Looked under carpet edges. Cleaned off the table. No luck.
Its not a valuable stamp. I could easily get another one for probably less than US$1.00 shipped. It's the time. It will take 2-3 weeks for the stamp to get to the US.
So, last night I gave up and went to bed.
This morning, I'm taking my son to the train for his daily commute to school. I get a shower, get dressed, and go to throw on my moccasins and inside the left moccasin I see a small white square. I pull it out and it's my missing stamp. I've been walking around this thing in my moccasin for days.
And the stamp is still in perfect condition. Perfectly flat. Gum undisturbed. Perforations in perfect shape.

I try to never have too many stamps on the table at once, or to leave stamps out loose. Once I lost a QEII Coronation stamp from the table. Not valuable, but I had plans for it and losing it was irratating. I looked around on the floor, swept the floor, got the flashlight, got Herself to sweep the floor. No luck.
The next day I was leaning on the kitchen counter, considering on where to look next, deep into the dark corners of the dining room and, um, what is that? There it was, on the floor next to my chair. Hmmmm...
I also build 1/72 scale model aircraft and vehicle kits. Tiny parts are very common, and more times than I can count parts have launched themselves across the room, bounced across the carpet, and skipped off into a nearby dimension, to wit, they disappeared from this world. The true challenge of plastic modeling is fabricating the pieces you loose.

Baking soda should remove any unwanted foot odor.

Baking soda should remove any unwanted foot odor. In the winter I wear wool socks with my moccasins. Crisis averted due to winter! 😀
Interesting fact about wool socks. Wool is naturally antimicrobial. You can wear a pair of wool socks for a pretty long time and they will never smell. My record is 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I thought it was just too disgusting to continue to experiment.
