What I collect: US...everything until I decide what I don't want to collect! And now thanks to a TSF give-away I'm adding Space topicals!

I've been poking around Colnect and for the life of me I cannot find a way to keep track of plate blocks in there.
Please tell me there is a system to do that!
I searched the forum and did a Google search and came up empty.
Thanks Mike

At present we do not spearately list marginal inscription blocks for the USA, as we have had no contributors volunteer to add them to the catalogue (colnect is a wiki, and all information is based on voluntary user contributions of data to the catalogue). Marginal inscription blocks would be something I'd like to see in the future, but that is just one of a number of items I'd like to integrate. If only I wasn't working a full-time job and the day had 36 hours! For now what can be done is using the note field next to the condition marker for your collection inventory for a specific stamp, where you could notate that you have the stamp as a plate block.

Is there a way a file could be created so that they could be loaded in bulk. ie an Excel spreadsheet that could be upload into Colnect?

Hmmmm....interesting....
I'm retired but involved in about 20 different projects right now. I'd love to take on that task of updating the catalog...but not right now... Mike

And I see how that note works too. That is a good work around.
I really don't want to build my own program... Mike

Many big catalogs (icl. SCOTT) do not list PBs (plate blocks) for all stamps (CV value) I have many blocks from Newfoundland to do and I know UNITRADE will partially help me and it is a Canada Specialized cat.

We do have an excel version of the file used for uploading new items to the catalogue, I am at work now but will post link when I get home from work. However I find the excel version much less user friendly to complete than the online submission form, so generally recommend anyone wanting to contribute new items to use the web-based version instead.

I'd be interested to see the spreadsheet. I am pretty good with Excel and may be able to help with this project.
There are two choices for catalogs - Durland and Hebert's. I have a fairly recent copy of Hebert's and an old Durland (somewhere). Hebert's is probably a better choice as it also gives all the positions - Upper Left, Upper Right, etc. Hebert's also includes PNCs, which could be separated into its own Colnect catalog.
The biggest question would be a numbering convention. Possibly SN-PB#-Position.
Also, I assume it's possible to get a download of the US catalog, so most of the required information would already be there and it would be just a matter of editing/adding the appropriate number or other comments.

Shoot me a PM over at Colnect and we can talk over some ideas
