Hi, it's been a while. Anyway, I have this one penny stamp which I'm struggling to id the cat number on. I could use some help. It would appear that: 1. It has no watermark. 2. Its on vertically laid paper 3. Its perf 14. I can point to a couple of cat numbers which it could be, like SG 3 or a variant of SG 16? None of the listings specify vertically laid paper was used. Appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thanks. Edit, I meant to add this to the main thread instead of creating a new one.

As no-one has answered: I don't have any of the Perkins Bacon printed stamps to compare yours with, I only have the De La Rue ones. In my view however, the colour is wrong, so are you sure there is no watermark? I'm not much good at distinguishing paper types but this is what laid paper looks like (stamp sized image)

Thanks,
Well, I was going off of the tram lines as the example of laid paper I looked up had the same feature. (still just trying to learn how to id the different types of paper) I'm guessing now it's just a coincidence? Initially I thought the tramlines might have been the watermark.
