Let me take this opportunity to clarify Forum policy -- while posting in English is definitely preferred (the vast majority of our membership are English speakers), it is not required. I added the translator function to the Forum because I understand that a portion of our membership does not speak English as either a primary or secondary language. If you are not comfortable with your English skills, and your primary language appears in the pull-down menu, select your language when creating a post and, once you've completed the entry but before uploading the post, select English from the pull down and the software will translate the text for you. For those of you who are English speakers, cut those who aren't some slack if what they have written seems a bit off.

I am a french Canadian and write the best I can René, anybody who wastes their time commenting on imperfections in your English is either a liar or a psychopath. I can't remember reading anything you ever wrote on here and having any questions about what it meant.

I agree that the forum translator is a great help for non-native English speakers.
I also agree with other friends that your English is excellent René. You have no communication problems. Live peacefully and serenely.
Here you can use the translator. Un grande abbraccio Ludovico

I can't say that I've had any problems with your English, Rene. If someone has left this forum because they can't understand what you write, they're missing out on having a good friend. Their loss.

I understood your post regarding the auction perfectly. Thanks to all members for your support Since my brain races most of the time, I have to edit certain texts but try to be understood by those who take the time to read René

Vive la diversité!
I totally get what you are saying René! My english at times can be interesting. Hi! Hi!
But at the end of the day, we are here to share our knowledge and our passion! I'm sure a few grammatical errors will not make us worst collectors!

I always think it wrong to try to correct posters in any forum, and I am a member of a Turkish one,for mispelling or grammer. I am sure everyone does there best. The fact they contribute is what matters.

rendenRené...your English has always been top notch. There are some days I wonder how I can get the Good Queen's English...I guess that is now the Good King's English...out of my mouth in a sensible manner let alone get my fingers to cooperate enough to get the thoughts to the screen! And speaking of French...we speak a version of what we call "French" here in the USA by us ordinary English speakers...but you really don't want me to type those words out here. Then I'd have to type "Pardon my French." But yes...I would like to see all welcomed here...no matter the language. We'll work it out. Mike

Hi Chris cjoprey , How do you say " smattering " in Italian, (or Spanish......"un pocito" doesn't have the same nuance )

smattering, infarinatura... something like flouring? Have you ever heard the "cadrega test" to check the level of your italian? If you're asking what a "cadrega" is, well, you're not going to pass the test...

Hi Chris cjoprey , How do you say " smattering " in Italian, (or Spanish......"un pocito" doesn't have the same nuance ) I must admit I would just say "Parlo un po' di Italiano"... Not quite the same meaning, but within my limits!
