If you collect Washington-Franklins or other specialized stamps, it is definitely worth having. I have one but prefer the Linn's / Scott multi-gauge for general preformation measurements. I do like the scale that has 0.5 increments.

I've been using it as my primary perf gauge for the last 10 years or so, and have been very happy with it.

I've been using it as my primary perf gauge for the last 10 years or so and have been very happy with it. Thanks for that mate! 10 years? Sweet! of course, you must like it and more than content to say the least... I got another question for you if you don't mind... As old mate angore suggested I am using that particular Gauge for Washington-Franklins or other specialized stamps...for example when sizing the stamps on those different sizes templates provided on the gauge, I always exercise that under a magnifying glass cause those black lines are so thin it's almost impossible detecting anything with the naked eye of course under magnifications its totally different .... having said that, now here is my million-dollar question Where would you position the black lines (templates borders) exactly on the stamp being sized up or (measured) ... ... Is the inside edge of the stamp's border frame lines as shown in the photo below would be correct spot?? Roni

When I use a perf gauge I always use a magnifier since I am trying to get down down 0.1 increments with Linn's / Scott gauge. My eyes are not that great too.

It's well-worth having and is my second most used measurement tool.
