My post in the “whatcha been stamping thread” seemed to really resonate with some of you! Let’s share our plans for clearing the clutter.
Here’s the process I’ve decided to use.
1. Gather up all the duplicates by culling them from my collection and where ever they may be and roughly organized chronologically. When I pull them from my Hagnar/Vario sheets, put on 8 1/2x11 stock cards they end up in fairly neat order.
2. Separate by MNH, MH and used
3. Scan through the catalog and pull anything that catalogs for a few dollars or more and pull any that I know are hard to find, then put on 104 cards with catalog numbers & price.
4. If I have a good range of quality commemoratives remaining, then it’s worth my time to make up an approval book or I might make up a few mini lots to trade or sell or giveaway. If I have a friend interested in bulk trades, I might pack up a bunch of to swap outright.
5. All the excess duplication and really common go right in the donate box. These are where I’ve been wasting too much time and storage space.
6. After a few months take the remainder of the approval books and unsold, untraded lots and put in the donate bin.
7. All I should have left is the better stuff to sell or trade. Those will probably go on Colnect in the future.
Buy another box or collection, rinse and repeat! LoL!

You've got it! Go for the gusto! I have all my duplicates identified and organized by country in 102 cards and the cards in boxes. I can offer them for sale at a local bourse where anyone and everyone can come and offer stamps to sell/buy stamps. I can also sell them online.

1. Bag up loose unwanted stamps, mint, used, on paper in a gallon freezer bag.
2. box up loose unwanted covers, postal history and misc. covers.
3 Take 1 and 2 to the youth/beginner table at the next show and pass them on.
No fuss; No muss. The gift that keeps on giving.
