Welcome Doug (dougfather) to The Stamp Forum. Can I assume that you are familiar with the book: "The Error World, An Affair with Stamps" by Simon Garfield? If not, I heartily recommend this (at times, adult themes) philatelic romp in your specialty... Rob

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I had never heard of this book Rob and so quickly checked the Toronto Library website and they have no copies. A check of eBay and found several for sale at reasonable prices and one with cheap shipping to Canada so I have a copy on the way.

Hello Hugh (hdm1950), I first heard about this book in a post by our Chris (Beryllium Guy) a year or two ago. I promptly ordered a used copy on eBay. I found it to be a quirky, fun read with enough philatelic realism to satisfy both a seasoned specialist as well as a non-philatelic reader. dougfather in his intro made me think of this book, it's an absolute ringer for his error collection.

Thanks, Michael ( Londonbus1), I still have the copy you passed on to me! I had been intending to pass it on to someone else while I was still in the UK, but it ended up coming back to California with me. I would still like to pass it along. I enjoyed it very much, but I would rather share it than just hang onto it.

Yes ! That's correct. I had the feeling it was elsewhere, not sure why. So there it is, if anyone wants a good read......
