What I collect: Newfoundland, Early Canada, Weimar Republic/Third Reich-Germany

I finally have some found some time to put into my Newfoundland collection. It is something that I abandoned for the last 25+ years.
Over the last week, I have put in quite a lot of work especially on Scott numbers 183+. I have already done quite a bit on 11 through 182.
Particularly challenging are the 1932-38 definitive issue and their reprints of 1941-44.
I am now focussed on the above Scott numbers. As part of my re-initiation in into the hobby, I bought a Palo Canada/Provinces album, but based on Stanley Gibbons. Maybe a mistake in retrospect, but it is what it is. Number 190 is straight forward but 191 does present some challenges with multiple perf and 2 die types. The album lists 5 variations for 191, but from looking through Scott, I can only match up four, 191, 191a, 191e, 191f. The album also lists a "small hole" variation for the 1, 2 and 5 cent denomination, which I am unsure of.
I also wonder if I could ask some advice on an approach to sorting, as I see it there are; 3 colours, 2 sizes, multiple perfs and 2 die types. How do you do your initial sort? What is the most efficient.
Thanks,
John
ps, I do have the NF specialised catalogue, but at times it confuses me! The catalogue is from 2006 but I have the most recent album and the numbering system has changed.

Research on this definitive series is ongoing as can be seen from the latest edition of the BNAPs Newfoundland Study Group.
An image of the 191. This is Die II as the antler pointing to the T is higher than the one pointing to the S.
The 1941 printings by Waterlow (the Perkins Bacon factory was destroyed in a bombing raid on London) are 12½ rather than 13½. I'm not familiar with the 'small hole' perf 14 variety.

Beautiful image, I have been having some problems with my magnifier but new batteries arrived yesterday. It will make it easier to see the antlers. This image certainly shows the difference. I also believe there is some variation in respect to the grass around the numeral 5.
I founded sorting the perfs first the most efficient way to see what was 13+ or 13- in respect to this. I find colour a real challenge but these stamps do have fairly distinct colours.
I really appreciate your help. Thanks for the newsletter, I will look forward to having a look.
John
