I have decided to (try) to create a database for Belgian postmarks (Cancels) from the period 1849 - 1910. I like to register in databases (I do that in my work) but it's a long time since I have created one, and just as a hobby for private use. The software I will be using is Microsoft Access (because I have that and have used it before). Some of you will probably sa: Why not use Excel? I you have a closer look at it Excel will be very limited compared to Access (or a database). The resources I have are several books covering various Belgian postmarks. But they are all written in a languish I don't read/speak so that will be a challenge. The reason I will do this is that this will help me to keep track of what I have and don't have in my new collecting area: Belgian Cancels - period 1849 - 1910. I hope that I also will be able to add pictures of my stamps with postmarks in the final database.

Is there a screenshot of the database you are building that you can share with us? I am very curious how it looks like (never used MS Access before).

Are you aware of the StampsX postmark database? It's in German, but it already has about 850 Belgian cancels in it.

I am aware of it, but have not visited it for a long time. And then I searched for German cancels. I will go and have a new look. Thanks
