Curious how people mount their stamps.

Surprised that this is not getting as much attention as the other poll you posted.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I suspect that many of us present our collections in multiple ways. I continue to use hinges on most lower valued used and previously hinged mint. Black mounts are reserved for better items. I use a stock book for my Canada revenue collection and occasionally use stock sheets when I delve into varieties or specialty studies. It made it hard to vote realistically on this poll.

My answer would be none of the above. I use Hagnar and Vario sheets, not stockbooks or any other listed option.

In the past (France and colonies) I've mainly used black Showgard mounts. Since then (Great Britain, Canada and Commonwealth) I've only used hinge-less albums such as Lighthouse and Palo for my country collections. I keep my Line Engraved and cover collections on Hagnar pages for flexibility. I haven't so much as licked a hinge in the past 60 years as I've always sought after Mint Never Hinged stamps whenever possible. I'm a stickler for neat and uniform album pages. Crooked mounted stamps and haphazard page stuffing with extra stamps that supplement a set such as color or perforation variations turns me off, instead I create pages that neatly integrate all the varieties. I've always been more attuned to quality within a few countries than quantity which is why I've never been a World Wide collector. The way an album page appears is very important to me in telling their story. Stanley (stainlessb) is a prime example of beautifully laid out and executed album pages. His France Sower pages are exemplary. Rob

Andy Pastuszak Had you crafted the poll to allow multiple responses, I would have checked all but the last. I use black split back Showgard mounts cut from strips in my Scott National album. My hingeless Davo Canada album has clear top opening mounts. My Scott Internationals have a combination of clear (both split back and top opening) mounts and hinges. Lastly, I also use stock books, Manila stock sheets, and both Vario and Hagner stock pages.
