Retired and getting back into stamp collecting.
Although I haven’t collected stamps since a child, I have kept up, over the years, reading periodicals at the local library and thumbing thru the Scott catalogs.
My primary interest is Japan stamps and covers to 1945. Also other covers that I find interesting.
I have much to learn and very much looking forward to my time here.

hello stevewisconsin - welcome to TSF from the U.K. - I too have some Japan, but daren't start looking at them as I know nothing about that part of the world, yet, so hopefully will learn from you and some of the other guys here.

What I collect: My focus is on Wild Mammals on maximum cards. Occasionally, I get or create maximum cards with other animals, or any other topic.

(Not actually) patiently awaiting my first cover purchases to arrive.
As far as first issues, i read that there are ten times more fakes than originally printed, so becoming familar with reputable dealers is high on the agenda.
At some point I would like to be able to deciper post marks, dates etc.
A new journey awaits...
