Hello, Anil ( anilkhemlani ), and thanks for your posts. I have bought old albums like this in the past myself, and I know how much I have enjoyed them, so thank you for sharing the experience with us. I just wanted to mention that in your first post in this thread, you show stamps of British Honduras mounted on standard notebook paper. These stamps should be separated from this paper at your earliest convenience. Standard notebook paper is not acid-free, and it will generally discolor and damage the stamps which are in contact with it over time. On the other hand, stamp album pages are normally acid-free, so there should be no problem with those. Anyway, I just thought you would like to know. I look forward to your further posts in this thread. hi @beryllium guy thanks for your message. yes that page is separate. and thanks for calling the notebook paper, I will remove those stamps and put them in my stock book. I didn't realise there are some amazing stamps in the album. im truly enjoying myself this week.

OK, call me a grumpy old woman, but I call baloney, anilkhemlani . These posts are nothing more than a fast way to get to the 50 posts required for access to the gimme gimme section of the forum. Two or three would have been sufficient, but this quantity is ridiculous. And judging by your private message to me demanding (a request would include the word “please” thus it was a demand) that I just give you particular countries for “study”, you are not a beginner. apologies for not being polite. you may disregard the message. it was not meant to be demanding in any ways. if you don't want to be a part of a conversation you can choose to ignore it. but to slander someone without knowing the true intention is not fair either. Apologies to you, too, Anil. It is nice to know that my implication that you’re only posting to get to 50 for the freebies isn’t true. I’m now reassured of your true intention - that you are interested in the forum itself and you aren’t posting just to enter the giveaways when you hit 50. I’m sorry if I made that assumption - it could be that you want to host a giveaway instead and I didn’t consider that possibility.

He could post multiple images in one post. It is easy to do if you use the TSF image host. There is a trick to switch to BB code mode first.
Old albums are nice but not a good way to store them long term for reasons like Chris mentioned. Someone has already been through it to remove stamps. I have a couple old albums and need to remove the stamps myself. A lot of old collections get the rippled page effect.

looking back at the Honduras page on non-stamp paper - shown at the beginning of anil's 'posts of many countries', the paper currently appears very white and acid free, though of course that may not last. We don't know how old it is already, but suspect modern. I see a variety of run of the mill low grade albums - most likely from school age collectors - and dating from 1930s to 1970s, many of which contain pages quite brown at the edges and tending to brittleness, and I remove the stamps I want pronto and they usually then go into stock books. These old pages are almost always of thin paper and very typical of their kind, so I'd suggest it's quality album pages from the past fifty years - on thick paper - that are going to remain acid free. Agree this 'Honduras' page should be stripped, the contents re-housed, and the paper binned, but the appearance of the paper might suggests it isn't a panic job or something that needs to be done before tea time;-)
