I'm curious where people prefer their stamp descriptions.

I think if one is going to include descriptions, it looks best t have the text on the same page as the stamps, rather than having to look over to the back of the previous page.

What are the bits in brackets a reference to? I think that’s American speak for generic, off the shelf , prepared pages. Most of us this side of the pond don’t see them and few have ever heard of them. I did acquire some White Ace pages with a Faroes collection I bought ……ditched them quickly, not my style

Minuteman (Scott), White Ace, and Heirloom (Mystic) are stamp album brands. Mystic albums have descriptions on the back side a page (left side). I find it a good use of what is often a blank. As an aside. the Mystic Heirloom used to be a bargain for beginner collectors that was for years under USD$50. Now, it is USD$160. You can buy by year range. If put stamps in the albums, you can end up with 6 very full binders. I expanded mine to 9 binders.

I think it might cheaper to just buy the pages from them and put them in your own binder.
I guess the price of paper went up along with the price of lumber.

Just getting binders that will fit has got to be really hard.
I much prefer Metric A4 paper to US letter. It's just a tiny bit longer and usually allows me to get an extra row of stamps on the page.
But getting A4 paper and binder is a challenge in the US. Most of the stuff available is "office supply" grade, and even that is expensive.
I really wish the US would switch to metric system 100%. There are so many advantages even in paper size.
Every Mertic paper size is exactly the same ratio at the paper size above and below. So, if you design something for A4 paper, you can drop it easily on A3 paper and scale it up and it will fit perfectly. No such look with US Letter, US Ledger and other goofy US paper sizes.

For anyone interested, you can buy just the Mystic Heirloom pages for $59.99 mysticstamp.com/Products/Supplies/GS705/USA/This is a "bring your own binder" solution. They say it's a "3 volume set," so you'll probably need to do as little hacking to get them to fit on more than 3 binders.

I'm curious where people prefer their stamp descriptions. As I make my own pages, I put the description of the stamp subject at the top of the stamp. I always try to get the entire set on one page and sometimes that is not possible. Not a frequent problem but an issue, nevertheless. Nick

I am glad you found the page only package. The Mystic binders and the associated slip cases that came with the pages was not that good, They sell a a premium binder but it costs more. For my custom Heirloom pages, I just followed the Mystic style mostly (info on left). I modified over 100 pages t rearrange and add missing varieties.

Hi
I don't really have descriptions pertaining to any stamp(s). I do put any pertinent catalog number(s), maybe a small note or two, under the stamp. I use, exclusively, quadrille blank pages and I think it looks better without any markings. If I did historical write ups I would most likely get a few stamps per page.

I arrange my stamps in stock sheets, so there isn't room for much in the way of descriptions, beyond an occasional tiny slip of paper with "constant flaw" or "blue phosphor" or something similar on it.
But I keep a detailed catalogue of my collection on my computer, with gaps for possible future acquisitions, and I sometimes print a page or two to store in a ring binder.

My answer isn’t listed. I use stock sheets and will place reference or descriptive information on the adjacent page.

I don't like descriptions on a page that upstage the actual stamps.
Year of issue helps to contextualize a set, but issue names and catalog numbers - not so much.
If there is an interesting story that tells why a stamp matters, then that is worth including on a page.
