Royal Mail still has the QE stockpile to use up . I had a Swap out delivery last week all QE 2nd class, + 50. 10s 5s and 1p
However I have had 2 C III 1st class and one 2nd Large last week
Puzzled that Royal mail have made £1 and £2 definitives but they do not fit and current mail rate !

I have only had 1 King Charles III stamp so far , that was a commemorative issue, haven't had any definitives yet, think they had printed loads of the newest Queen Elizabeth II new definitives and are still trying to get through them.

Actually that was the correct original instruction for cancelling these Matrix code stamps ....The Code should not be cancelled with a handstamp . pen cancel was to be employed. Eventually as the code on each is unique , once all the sorting offices get the new reader equipment the machinery should assess whether the stamp has been previously used and there is no need for a cancel at all . I don't believe all offices have got the machinery to read the code yet !

The one King Charles III cover I do have would appear to be a popular item with 3 images posted to date. I thought about making it a fourth, but that just might be over the top ;-) As it is, thanks for the additional insights Alex ( vikingeck ); given the Royal Mail instructions regarding pen cancels on these coded stamps, you may have just saved this cover from the scissors and a soak. Except, the cover is rather plain and the jury is still out as to whether or not to keep it intact... Have and happy collecting!

Hate these meters (as a collector) - René i try to get postmarks as I travel around, helps remember the trip. Most posties are very helpful, as you say. I should just keep the envelope, but there is something to getting it in the mail!

I do this too sudbury12000 ! I try to send myself an envelope with a local postmark (or at least a postcard) whenever I travel. It's nice to find a souvenir of the trip in the mailbox when I get back home. Sorry to drive this conversation further off-topic... Anyway, I like your cover!

First sighting of King Charles Horizon label daniel, Is this the future of British postage? If it is, it strikes me like a death knell for collectors. Dot matrix priniting on secret paper and a bust with slits in it. Ugliest British stamp I've ever seen. (In my humble personal opinion, not meant to offend anyone). Rob

RobHorizon labels have been around some time now. They started off looking like these but only got interesting when the design was changed to this. From there, it gradually transformed into this style. Daniel
