Greetings from San Diego,
I'm originally from South Africa and had been collecting Cape of Good Hope and Union of South Africa some years ago.
Following my move to the US I sold my collection to a friend – but am now back into collecting. I'm specifically focusing on Cape of Good Hope. There is something about those triangulars!

Welcome to TSF, Warren ( wm )! It's always good to have another collector interested in Cape Triangles, so a special welcome on that front, too. I hope that you will favor us with some posts of your material in due course. I am living in the Ontario-Upland area, about 50 miles east of LA, so not all that far from you. Perhaps one of these days we will get together for a side-by-side comparison session, which would be good fun. Are you a member of the Cape & Natal Study Circle? If not, I would suggest that you consider joining, as the society's journal (CNPJ) does periodically contain articles about Cape of Good Hope and other South African stamps. Thank you all for the welcome. And to Rob REL1948 and Chris Beryllium Guy for the encouragement and additional information and links. I did recently join the Cape & Natal Study Circle and appreciated being able to access the journals. I've also been avidly reading up on the various forum discussions on figuring out how to classify the 4d's and others. I'm definitely a beginner on that score. A side-by-side comparison is certainly a good option to consider, Chris. Good to know you are not far away! I look forward to sharing a few queries on the COGH threads soon. All the best Warren |
