Sorry for the n00b question, but I have the following stamps: I understand that the 25c, 30c, 40c and 50c represent cents. What do the +15, +10, and +20 mean?

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

These are semi-postal stamps where extra cents go for a specific project or charity. Many countries have issued special stamps like this. It is similar to a store asking if you want to add a dollar or 2 to your bill for a charity they are promoting.

"Semi-postals" just for Scott catalog. "Charity stamps" elsewhere. Very popular on the Central Europe German culture countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Begium...)

is this the same thing? a semi-postal with the extra 12 and 1/2 red stamp? No, this is a overprinted and surcharged stamp. Maybe they ran out of stamps with the postal rate 12½ cent and had to overprint the 20cent. You can find it here
