Ukraine 2004 and why you need a good catalog.

I recently bought a set of 2004 stamps from Ukraine from my usual Ukrainian Stamp Dealer. Stamps arrived 2 weeks ago. I got them into mounts and worked on getting them in my stock book in order, waiting for me to finish designing my stamp pages. And I hit a snag.

In 2004 Ukraine issued a miniature sheet for their Europa release.:

I learned that these miniature sheet was also issued as a booklet:

The booklet stamps are smaller than the miniature sheet stamps and have a unique MICHEL catalog number.

The booklets are a lot rarer, and are not included with online year sets because of price.

My seller sold me the booklet for US$40, and that price beat every listing I found on eBay.

The annoying part is the wait for the stamps to come in the mail from Ukraine. They take about 2-3 weeks.

It boggles my mind that I've been collecting Ukrainian stamps now for over a decade, I've made an entire stamp album of Ukrainian stamps, and yesterday was when I discovered these stamps existed.

This is why it's often good to have an accurate catalog.
