Hi
A while back I developed an application for storing a stamp's details within the image of the stamp itsself. The program was called STAMPTAG. Another individual was doing something similar for a Stamp Inventory. We pooled our `resources' and created a combined application. Unfortunately, the other individual "disappeared".
Recently I decided to create STAMPTAG - V3.0 Some of the image processing is being simplified and new options and features may be added. The current STAMPTAG stores the following data within the stamp image:
a. The Stamp image itself. Only JPEG (or JPG) type images are valid. For other types, there will be a builtin converter
b. Geographic Area (Africa, Antartica, North America)
c. Country
d. 1 to n Catalog details
Catalog Name Mint Value
Year Mint Cost
Catalog Number Used Value
Watermark Number Used Cost
e. Issue Date (Month, Day, Year)(possible to add an option for Year, Month, Day order??)
f. Perforation
Type (Perforate, Imporforate, etc.)
Horizontal and Vertical Perf - English or Metric units.
g. Stamp Height and Width - English or Metric units.
h. Stamp Subject
i Stamp Printer
j. Stamp Title
k. Stamp Condition (Heavily Cancelled, Small Tear, etc.)
l. Stamp Paper Type (Chalky, Granite, etc.)
m. Printing Method (Engraving, Photogravure, etc.)
n. User Notes
Note: 1. Input fields are supported by Editor Functions, in which values can be added, changed, deleted. etc..
2. Not All fields are required, except essential fields.
I am planning an Import / Export feature. At this time I am not sure what? The thouight is that any field(s) be designated by the USER.
Why this post. Before I start re-designing any functions, features, etc., I would like to to get feedback from the user community as to changes or features that could be added, or enhanced, to make STAMPTAG more useful to the User. It would be a lot easier to make changes now than later. If an idea is not pratical, maybe we can make it so by a little discussion.
One may respond to me by E-Mail (temporary address) JERRYBEMAIL-STAMPTAG@YAHOO.COM Please put STAMPTAG-V3 in the E-mail title line.
Thanks a lot.
