Hi everyone and thank you for accepting my application.
I was introduced to stamp collecting around 55 years ago. My father had an interest in stamps and through him I was drawn into the fascinated world of stamps. From those humble beginnings in my early teens I began to accumulate albums worth of stamps from around the world. But as my knowledge grew so did my thirst for a specialisation and I was drawn in particular to QV GB and Commonwealth. Through approvals, dealers and magazines I continued to research and collect into my mid-twenties.
However, around that time that my interest in stamps began to wane and my pursuit of other hobbies and interests took over. The albums were put away in safe keeping, not seeing the light of day again until about 2 years ago. I inherited two albums from my late Father in Law, who had built a collection first begun by his father. This collection contained many unusual stamps that I thought at least warranted some investigation. Acquiring a few old SG catalogues gave me some leads but it was then that I realised just how much help, knowledges and assistance was available on-line, and in forums such as this. So, with renewed enthusiasm, and with a little more time on my hands than I had 40 years ago, I am greatly looking forward to reading your posts and participating.
