What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I see several posts on this thread that include paper making which of course is an essential part of printing. I grew up in a community where the paper mill was the dominant employer from 1929 through the depression era till it's closure in 2012. I do have these few postal items related to the mill. The first is a FDC for the 1956 Unitrade 362 commemorative for the paper industry. It is addressed to a local mill executive. (In Liverpool we really did try to keep up with the Joneses.) The next 2 images I had shared before. This was an invitation for the official introduction of the 1987 Newsprint Pulp stamp that was part of 4 Science and Technology stamps. Unitrade 1136.

Thanks hdm1950, I have the Fenerty stamp issued on 25 June 1987 in a series Canada Day - Science and Technology (2nd series) (Canada) In the 1830's Charles Fenerty, a Nova Scotian, observed wasps chewing wood to produce paper for their nest. He experimented, and around 1838 produced the world's finest usable paper from wood

I had forgotten that I had this FDC that I expect my dad would have received with the invitation to the 1987 introduction reception. He and the mill president of the day were close friends plus the family construction business did lots of work at the mill. My little paint and wallpaper business did not make the invite list.
