What I collect: Worldwide

OK this may seem an odd question, but I have several empty albums of pages which have empty Prinz mounts on them
Are the pages that have empty mounts on them recyclable?
If I could just check the empty album pages in the recycle bin that would be optimal, but not sure if the mounts can go in with the empty pages.
Thanks

In our county, they would not like mounts left on paper. I have removed them before putting them in the paper recycle. From what I can tell, the county has to prescreen everything before they turn it over to the recycler so they accept it so there is extra cost involved in screening the material.

Each municipality establishes its own standards for what materials are acceptable for recycle. Columbus, Ohio, for example, does not accept plastic bags, wrap or film. The mounts would likely be considered as being in that category.

Generally I try to remove any thing “ plastic” and put paper in recycle bins. I am not sure if the paper is considered usable at all. Otherwise the paper with mounts end up in landfill. Yes, the paper will eventually decompose and the mount parts will be left behind. Landfills are expensive so I am hoping the paper I divert can be re used.
