Hello from Albany, Oregon. I have been thinking about getting into stamp collecting for a long time. I recently picked up a HUGE collection of thousands upon thousands of stamps and books for $40 and am completely overwhelmed all at once but am looking forward to slowly learning about them as I start to organize them! I will try to get a few pics here soon of what Im working with

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Welcome 57buick . Your recent acquisition sounds like hours of fun and maybe even some treasures. Your approach of going slowly is wise. If it is just a big random jumble the easiest way to go is to sort by country first followed by probably arranging one country at a time by date of issue while setting duplicates aside for further study in case the particular issue is known to have varieties. That will keep you busy for awhile. Enjoy!

Welcome 57Buick! I retired from the manufacturing complex at GM in Flint Michigan, part of which includes the Buick assembly where your classic was built! Here’s a cool website about the history of the factory city - it was a HUGE complex Buick city

Welcome to The Stamp Forum 57buick, You're off to a lucky start with that find! You've come to the right place for expertise and experience. I look forward to seeing your collection as it advances. 1957 was a super year for Buicks in my humble opinion. My favorite was the Buick Century Coupe in black and white with a red leather interior. See you on the Forum, Rob

Welcome to the Forum!
As to what to do with 50 sheets of Ajman Stamps, I don't really collect them, more like save them if they come my way. I would keep one full sheet and maybe a single of each. There's not really much of a market for them on Ebay, which shows about 300 sales in the last 90 days and over 1400 active listings. Other than people paying ridiculous prices for graded stamps, most are going for a couple of bucks a sheet and are being sold in bulk (10 sheets). I don't know if any other sites might have better pricing.
You could always use them to wallpaper the bathroom. LOL

57buick, Going forward, posts other than those specifically related to your intro should be made in other Forum areas. For example, the Ajman posts would more appropriately have been placed in the Have A Question category.

Hello Buick
Welcome to the forum and I agree, what to do with those sheets of stamps :-)
A few months ago my wife made a nice little artwork with some dups I had laying around.
I know some people create beautiful art using stamps.
