Ive just started learning about stamps this week when I got this huge unsorted collection. What should i do with bundles like these where I have hundreds of duplicates. Is there any point in storing them or just sell them off if they have any value? I want to collect stamps but I have so many collections of things taking up room lol

what I have done on occasion is put them on e-Bay as a 'study lot" (be sure you do not have need for anything in the lot).
If you keep them and you are actively collecting, they can become a bit overwhelming.
The other option,as these lpok like common stamps, would be to donate to a local club or civic group for their kids box, bargain bins, etc.,

57buickUnless I am misunderstanding something here, these stamps are not stuck together, they are merely bundled. Do you see the paper bands around most of them? That’s what is holding them together. Assuming that’s correct, they shouldn’t need soaking in order to be separated. Does that make sense?

Agree with the above. These bundles probably best left as they are and passed on as members have advised
Given the appropriate stamps, these bundles can be good for seeking "varieties" or postmarks. However the stamps shown are both common, and not of a size that show good quality postmark impressions.
As quality stamp printing developed, so the amount of "varieties" in stamps reduced.
These bundles will just fall separate when released from the bands, one looks like banded with sellotape (eek!)
You probably would be best to only soak stamps that you wish to keep soaking every stamp you come across, can be both a waste of time, and destroy any possible postmarks on attached paper.

What I collect: US...everything until I decide what I don't want to collect! And now thanks to a TSF give-away I'm adding Space topicals!

I've wondered this same question. I've skipped on buying on auctions just because they had these bundles even though there was other items I wanted. brookbam / Mike

Bundles are a delight for flyspecking collectors like me. I go through them, pick out perfins, varieties and cancels and donate the remainder to Stamps for the Wounded. Of course, I only open bundles of stamps for areas that I study in detail, such as Ireland. Other bundles go into the donate bin intact.

Luckily I have only run across bundles a few times. I might be more excited if I were to find bundles for older (i.e., classic) stamps, but typically I get stuff like Spanish Francos. Early on, I made the mistake of separating them. Any I find going forward will just be set aside.

Ahhhh yes, Dale, Statesman Stamper , those ubiquitous orange Franco’s. I say we should give all the darn things to kids to make decoupage pumpkin art for Halloween. Waddya think, eh? A good use for bundles!

I think Terri ( philatelia) has got the measure of this idea of what to do with bundles. If the bundle is of stamps that interest you for flyspecking or variety hunting, then break 'em open and have a look-see. On the other hand, if they are stamps that don't interest you, pass 'em along as is and let someone else decide. I am still waiting to find a bundle of 4-Pence Cape Triangles so that I can search them for obscure color varieties! Think I'll have a long wait? Something about hell freezing over comes immediately to mind.... Stay bundle stampy, all!

Well Chris, if I find a bundle of COGH 4p triangles in a box lot, you’ve got dibs lol!
BTW - How WOULD you bundle a bunch of triangles? Some sort of multi-fold origami around them I imagine?
